Heroes-con Come and Gone
Well it’s been a week since Heroes Con 09 has ended, I’d been too busy working making up the days I missed to post an update about my attendance. I really had a great time and it was really fun sitting on the other side of the table. Got to have some really great conversations with people, while I didn’t sell too much, I still got a lot of great input and I felt like that was worth it.
The picture above is the little corner I set up. Have to send many thanks to Josh Latta for letting me use the space at his table, I’m very grateful for it. Definately go check out his site: www.lattaland.com
He’s a real swell guy and has some great art.
My booth layout changed a lot, since I brought so much stuff and didn’t have room to display it all at once. I did get some DVDs and Manga sold from my collection that I didn’t want anymore, glad they went to a new home. I sold one sketch card I did of Ai Enma from Hell Girl. Sadly none of my prints sold, but that’s okay.
I drew these up in my room at the Westin Hotel Friday night. I was pretty tired and run down but I managed to get these drawn and inked. I liked them a lot and am actually a little happy they didn’t sell. ^_^; That’s one of my problems, too connected to my work. Any way here’s some close ups:

Batman and Robin Hijinks
I did three more of these cards Saturday while at the convention; the previously mention Ai Enma, one of a pig(don’t ask why, I don’t know! ^o^), and a Skeksis from the Dark Crystal. Images below:

There didn’t seem like much there vendor wise, I didn’t end up buying anything and usually I like to have a souvenir. There were only two anime vendors and neither had anything I would want. Since I’m not big on the comic side I didn’t see much there I wanted either. Though there were a lot of indy artist that caught my eye, funds were also tight on my end.
Sunday I just relaxed in my room while I waited for check out time to arrive. I’m not sure if I’ll attend Heroes Con next year. It’s a good con but I’m thinking of trying for Animazement since it’ll have more of an audience for work like mine. Here are some more miscellaneous shots I took from the trip.

Heroes Con this weekend!
It seems like Heroes con has snuck up on me; it’s happening this weekend and I feel like I still have a lot to get ready! The Beach Girl posters arrived last week and look fantastic! I’ll be using Paper Forest a lot more in the future. They’re vivid and durable, even laminated, a very nice product to be selling. I’ll be pricing them at 15 dollars even. Look for me on Friday and Saturday, those are the only two days I’ll be there. Make sure to check out my portfolio for my most recent projects and also a look into my past work!
Not only will I be selling the Beach Girl posters, but I’ll have a lot of other goodies from my personal collection that I’ll be letting go. Like a Cardcaptor Sakura wand with original box a steal at 30 dollars for such a rare item! Movie posters from Pirates of the Carribean, The Muppets Treasure Island, and some more wall decorations will be present!
Please stop by the booth I’ll be sharing with my friends(they actually got the booth and are super enough to let me tag along). I know they’ll have some great stuff for you to look at and buy as well!
Brand New Day
I’ll be sharing post on art I’m creating(possibly even featuring friends and other artist), convention attendance, progress on the career in artistic fields, and blogging about some things that interest me like anime, manga, and figures.
To catch everyone up, I’ll be attending Heroes Con this June on the weekend of the 19th and will be there till Sunday. I’ll be selling a print of Beach Girl June, I had 15 printed by Paper Forest and will be selling them for 15 US Dollars. I’m mostly using this as a gauge to see how things will go because I’ve never actually sold at a convention before. I would have made more prints, but money is too tight for it right now.
I’m also going to be taking some of my personal collection and selling those to clear out items I no longer want. This is ranging from Cardcaptor Sakura and Sailormoon toy wands and merchandise to DVDs and manga.
Look foward to seeing you there!
