Heroes-con Come and Gone

Well it’s been a week since Heroes Con 09 has ended, I’d been too busy working making up the days I missed to post an update about my attendance. I really had a great time and it was really fun sitting on the other side of the table. Got to have some really great conversations with people, while I didn’t sell too much, I still got a lot of great input and I felt like that was worth it.

The picture above is the little corner I set up. Have to send many thanks to Josh Latta for letting me use the space at his table, I’m very grateful for it. Definately go check out his site: www.lattaland.com
He’s a real swell guy and has some great art.
My booth layout changed a lot, since I brought so much stuff and didn’t have room to display it all at once. I did get some DVDs and Manga sold from my collection that I didn’t want anymore, glad they went to a new home. I sold one sketch card I did of Ai Enma from Hell Girl. Sadly none of my prints sold, but that’s okay.

I drew these up in my room at the Westin Hotel Friday night. I was pretty tired and run down but I managed to get these drawn and inked. I liked them a lot and am actually a little happy they didn’t sell. ^_^; That’s one of my problems, too connected to my work. Any way here’s some close ups:

I did three more of these cards Saturday while at the convention; the previously mention Ai Enma, one of a pig(don’t ask why, I don’t know! ^o^), and a Skeksis from the Dark Crystal. Images below:

There didn’t seem like much there vendor wise, I didn’t end up buying anything and usually I like to have a souvenir. There were only two anime vendors and neither had anything I would want. Since I’m not big on the comic side I didn’t see much there I wanted either. Though there were a lot of indy artist that caught my eye, funds were also tight on my end.
Sunday I just relaxed in my room while I waited for check out time to arrive. I’m not sure if I’ll attend Heroes Con next year. It’s a good con but I’m thinking of trying for Animazement since it’ll have more of an audience for work like mine. Here are some more miscellaneous shots I took from the trip.
